Mat's Review:

Last revised in 1985, this is still the best basic do-it-yourself book on adobe construction. In his popular classes, Paul McHenry has taught thousands of people how to build their own adobe homes. This book originally started out as a textbook for his class, and has excellent illustrations for all aspects of building, including foundations, brick making, brick laying, plumbing, roofing, and electrical systems. For the latest in tools, techniques, code changes, and construction technologies, see Joe Tibbets’ Southwest Solar Adobe School, his Earthbuilder’s Encyclopedia CD, and his Adobe Builder magazine (see “Resources” section in this chapter?).
